FRANK ENNIS + ASSOCIATES – Brief Synopsis of Background Experience Frank Ennis + Associates was established in May 1993 and within a relatively short time has gained a reputation as an innovative Architectural and Interior Design Practice. This has been achieved by dedicating itself to close communication with its clients in seeking a solution to their particular needs and by offering an integrated package of skills, from conception through to completion. In the 15 years since it was founded, the practice has grown dramatically under partners Frank Ennis and Greg Bell. Over that period the practice has made a substantial contribution to the quality of Irish architecture in the masterplanning, hospitality, sport, leisure, education, residential, conservation and medical sectors for both private and public clients. Frank Ennis + Associates are well known nationally for their fresh and energetic approach to building design in both urban and sensitive rural sites, requiring a traditional or contemporary approach. Every project is considered as a one off commission and indeed every client’s needs and every site generate a particular individual project criteria . The Office & Philosophy Frank Ennis + Associates are located in purpose designed offices at 63 Rock Road, Blackrock, Co. Dublin comprising 6,500 sq ft. Current staff consists of 25 personnel including 6 architects, 10 technicians/part qualified architects, 5 interior designers and 4 management/administrative staff. Projects are organised around a team structure consisting of 1-2 architects (as required), 2-3 technicians as necessary with interior design involvement as and when required. In all cases there is an overseeing role adopted by Frank Ennis or Greg Bell with direct involvement in all projects and individual project architects report direct to partner and senior associate management on a regular basis as and when required. One of the most notable aspects of the pubs, hotels & spa in which Frank Ennis + Associates have been involved is the fact that they each appear to enjoy a considerable degree of commercial success. This is obviously due, in no small part, to the quality of the design work, which has been a critical factor in attracting the custom of the particular market segment targeted by each of the clients. The Practice dedicates itself to close communication with the client in seeking a solution to their particular needs. An integrated package of architecture, interior design and project management skills is offered from conception to completion. The practice believe that each project demands a unique and special solution and that this can best be achieved through a team approach in which the clients’ participation is vital to success. The formulation of the brief and the initial concept and its development to meet the requirements of the client is seen as critical to the success of the project.
