Founded in 1996, MAI provides architecture, engineering and interior design services for the design of golf developments, resorts and spas throughout the United States and the world. The firm, quite literally, is recognized worldwide as one of the foremost experts in golf and resort architecture, and is one of the few firms which focuses solely on these areas. Since its inception, MAI has grown to more than 50 employees. MAI’s headquarters office is located in Colorado, and the firm also has opened satellite offices in California, Texas and Florida.
MAI was founded by industry veteran Mike Marsh and a core group of golf-specific architects, who teamed up to form the company after they had collaborated on more than 20 golf-related projects. This tight-knit group also came together as a result of their common goal of providing truly world-class, leading-edge architectural design and old-fashioned client service.
Of note, MAI takes a comprehensive approach to the design of golf developments, resorts and spas by designing, not only the golf clubs or main spa facilities, but the secondary buildings that also comprise and form the personality of developments. Thus, MAI applies the same care and detailing to swim-tennis facilities, comfort stations, golf course maintenance facilities, lodging, sales centers, gatehouses and equestrian facilities.
MAI has an impressive roster of notable projects throughout the United States and the world. From projects in Sonoma, California to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, from Seoul, Korea to Lake Havasu, Arizona, from Cherry Hills Village, Colorado to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, MAI’s team has provided a winning combination of golf and resort expertise, design trend-setting, personal service and a deep-seated passion for doing great work.
