HISTORY - BOE Architects was founded in 1983 in the San Francisco Bay Area by Architect Timothy Boe. As a multi-disciplinary, full-service firm, BOE immediately gained recognition for its award-winning architectural designs, as well as for its success in working with municipalities, in the capacity of client’s advocate. The firm’s ability to obtain entitlements and Planning Department approvals on a multitude of different project types quickly established BOE Architect’s reputation as a leader in this important area of the development industry. In 1998, BOE was restructured as part of a merger in which the company name was changed to ARC Inc. Three years later, after opening it’s Southern California branch office, Timothy Boe sold his interest in ARC Inc. and reinstated BOE Architects in the SouthWest. The architecturally significant City of Pasadena, and its historic Old Town district, is where BOE Architects is now headquartered. BOE also has a Northern California office located in Downtown Sacramento.

PROFILE - BOE Architects provides a full complement of architectural services and is experienced in a wide range of project types. Distinguished as the recipient of numerous design awards, BOE Architects takes special pride in its ability to maintain the perspectives of its clients, while helping them to achieve their development goals. It is this attitude, along with a comprehensive understanding of the development process that has led to a long history of successful projects. BOE strives to remain the client’s advocate in areas of budgets, schedules, and in obtaining permits and entitlements. It is for these reasons that the company enjoys a high percentage of repeat work from satisfied clients.

VISON - Viewed rightfully, the role of the Architect is that of an advocate, skilled in every aspect of the process of making vision become reality. Coordinating the many components required to implement that vision requires a level of commitment that BOE Architects both knowingly and willingly embraces. The firm’s history of successful projects will attest to the degree of that dedication, while future projects will continue to reveal it.

PHILOSOPHY - BOE Architects subscribes to the idea that regardless of the project’s nature, exposure to a broader range of project types is beneficial to the design process overall. Accordingly, the BOE resume is diversified in a variety of markets including: Mixed-Use, Commercial, Retail, Office, Industrial, Medical, Adaptive Re-Use, Interior/Space Planning, Land Use Planning, Recreational, Gasoline Facilities and a host of other specialty uses. BOE has found that experience garnered from seemingly unrelated project types often provides a source of inspiration that might have been overlooked had the firm been “overly specialized.” It is with this awareness that each and every assignment is approached.
